My paintings and encaustics begin as an experiment - combining layers of acrylic paint (or pigmented wax), collage, and mixed media which are constantly scraped, incised, and manipulated until I sense a balance. Adding details hopefully keeps viewers engaged and if they linger, they might discover unexpected nuances, a bit of whimsy, or perhaps something more profound.
